Duplo System 4000/2000 boom in Scandinavia

Duplo International is experiencing a boom in sales and installations of the System 4000 and newly launched System 2000 bookletmaking solutions throughout Scandinavia.
The Duplo System 4000 has proved an enormous success since its launch at drupa 2000 with an installed customer base of over 300 units worldwide. Following in its success is the newly created modular and flexible Duplo System 2000 specifically designed to enable lower volume users to increase bookletmaking productivity.
DANMAIL, a mailing company based in Denmark, has increased its customer base thanks to the “fast, reliable and competent service” of the Duplo System 4000. Peter Bausager, Director at Danmail explains, “We invested in the Duplo System 4000 bookletmaking solution to enable us to take on the job of printing and finishing SAS Business Class in-flight menus. SAS change their menus everyday and as there are 40 daily departures a day we needed a solution, which was fast and reliable. The menus are printed from a database and stapled, folded and trimmed on the Duplo System 4000”.
Danmail, who also handles work for Microsoft, plan to expand on an international scale within the next few years and as Mr Bausager sees it, the Duplo System 4000 is vital to that strategy. “To outsource parts of the SAS job would have been very costly and time consuming. The Duplo System 4000 provides the ideal solution to meet all our requirements”.
NYA DUVBO TRYCKERI AB has cut 60 hours a week off production time after swapping its Horizon bookletmaker for a Duplo System 4000 bookletmaking solution. The Swedish based company, which, amongst other jobs produces wallpaper information booklets for Dagens Spel, has cut costs and increased productivity as result of the Duplo Investment. Bjorn Gustafsson proprietor recalls; “We were attracted to the Duplo System 4000 by its flexibility, speed and reliability. We have freed up valuable production time as a result which means we now have time to take on extra work, which can only be a positive for profit margins.”
PRINTEX TRYKKERI As a commercial printer based in Norway invested in a Duplo System 4000 bookletmaking solution to introduce stitch/fold and trimming options to its finishing department. Mr Arnesen, proprietor at Printex is clear on why he chose the Duplo System 4000 solution; “We needed a bookletmaking system which would offer us cost savings and faster turnaround, the Duplo System 4000 has met both of these needs and we are very happy.” STATOIL an oil-company, also based in Norway, installed a Duplo System 2000 bookletmaking solution at its in-house print centre earlier this year. Investment in the solution was prompted by the need to merge colour and mono documents from a new DocuColor 2060 and Docutech machines. Neale Horstead, Regional Manager for Northern and Central Europe at Duplo International comments, “Statoil produces in-house documents for a chain of service stations and needed a solution to replace their old on-line system. Investing in a Plockmatic system was considered but the professionalism and versatility of the Duplo System 2000 was the main attraction.”
